Twelve students from the Health Science Technology program at Wright Technical Center had the wonderful opportunity to attend and compete at the MN State HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) Leadership Conference April 2nd and 3rd where 300 students from around the state competed in medical related written and skill tests. Three students received top honors: Amanda Maus, a homeschool student from Howard Lake, took home Honorable Mention in 2 categories, Nursing Assistant and Prepared Speaking. Lily Stecker, from Rockford, won 3rd place in the Medical Reading category. Momilani O’Sullivan, from St. Michael-Albertville, won 1st place in Medical Reading category and Honorable Mention in Medical Terminology category. Both Lily and Momilani will be traveling to the National HOSA Leadership Conference this June in Orlando and will competing against top students from around the US in Medical Reading category. The 12 HOSA students who attended proudly received the Distinguishing Service Award for their efforts in serving others in Community Service Projects throughout the year.
