Young Musicians Take Center Stage at Walnut Park in St. Michael

Community Education’s summer music camp finished up Thursday evening with a concert at Walnut Park. With the sun still shining and a warm summer evening plenty of families came to enjoy the concert.

Middle school students who participated in the camp the last several weeks were able to perform fifteen songs, the first five of which were performed by the string ensemble.

The 57 students were from Albertville, Big Lake, Buffalo, Elk River, Hanover, Loretto, Otsego, Rogers, St. Michael, Valley City, N.D., and Centerville, Va., participated.

The program was run by Community Education but directed by Middle School Band teachers, Mark and Jackie Jordheim and High School & Elementary Music Teacher Victoria Van Beusekom.
