1 Man Stabbed, Another Arrested In Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN — One man is hospitalized while another is awaiting charges following a stabbing that occurred in Willernie early Monday morning, the Washington County Sheriff's Office announced.

Just after 8:30 a.m., a patroling Washington County deputy came upon a man suffering from multiple stab wounds on the side of the 300 block of Stillwater Road, authorities said.

The deputy provided medical aid and called for backup. The injured man — a 36-year-old from Willernie — verbally identified his attacker before being taken to the hospital, according to authorities.

A bystander led deputies to a residence about 100 yards away where both the injured man and the suspect live, investigators said.

Deputies and officers from other agencies established a perimeter and began searching for the suspect, who was identified as a 19-year-old man, according to authorities. He was found about a half-mile away and taken into custody just after 10 a.m., investigators said.
