1-Year-Old Hit By Family Car In Maplewood Dies
The boy was mistakenly thought to be inside at the time of the fatal incident, according to investigators.

MAPLEWOOD, MN — A 1-year-old child died Sunday after he was struck by a family car in Maplewood. Police responded to the 1900 block of Prosperity Road just before 9:30 p.m. on a report of a child not breathing.
Police later learned that 1 year-old Andrew Her had been hit by a vehicle.
Andrew, who was mistakenly thought to be inside, was hit by a family member moving a car to a different parking spot, according to investigators. He was taken to Regions Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to conduct an autopsy. Maplewood police continue to investigate.
"This is a terrible tragedy affecting [the boy's] parents, family and all who knew him," police commander Dave Kvam told KSTP.
