WOODBURY, MN -- The Relay for Life of South Washington County raised $130,000 for the American Cancer Society. Over 650 participants registered for the relay, according to the Woodbury Bulletin.Participating survivors' shirts read "we are the courageous, we are the passionate, we are the determined, we are hope," adjectives which became themes of the event.The Woodbury Bulletin reported event organizer Dave Olson as saying "loved ones have turned purpose since I've been doing this, and that's not going to stop me," referring to the color of the survivors' shirts.The event was held indoors for the first time at the HealthEast Sports Center in Woodbury. <hr />Article image public domain
