18 Men Accused Of Soliciting Sex From Children In Woodbury

STILLWATER, MN — Washington County Attorney Pete Orput announced that sex trafficking charges have been brought against 18 people he says were caught in a sex trafficking operation during the week of the Super Bowl. Police also rescued several victims from the commercial sex trade that week, officials said.

The operation was part of multi-agency collaboration including the East Metro Sex Trafficking Task Force. It was led by the Minneapolis Police Department.

The East Metro Sex Trafficking Task Force consists of detectives from the Oakdale Police Department, Woodbury Public Safety, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, along with an attorney and an analyst from the Washington County Attorney’s Office.

"We are committed to working in collaboration with our local law enforcement and federal partners in stemming the tide of sex trafficking in our communities," Washington County Sheriff Dan Starry said in a statement.

"We will do this by vigorously investigating individuals that exploit children and adults in the illegal sex trade industry in Washington County, and the State of Minnesota. The commercial sex trade industry is not a victimless crime."
