Blotter Bonus: Woodbury Animal Antics And You
A little story about a little critter, and community connections in Woodbury.

Iβm often asked: How do you figure out what to write about? How do you get the news?
Some of it is just the rhythm of the week: you know the city council meets most Wednesdays, you call the or Woodbury lawmakers to see whatβs new, and I know Iβll put the police blotter out on Saturday morning.
A lot of news gathering, however, is just a matter of talking to folks and keeping an eye out for anything new or noteworthy or unusual.

And itβs that last part that people seem to enjoy so much about Saturdayβs police blotter.
Last Saturday I got an email from Jenny Jennings, who lives at the 8300 block of Tamberwood Road in Woodbury.

An opossum somehow got into her home, and when she wasnβt able to remove itββarmed with thick boots, a bathrobe and a yard stickββshe called police. A βvery niceβ Woodbury community service officer was able to remove the animal, no worse for the wear.
Included in her email was a line about how she thought the incident might make the police blotter, and it seemed appropriate to highlight it today (especially since Jennings was nice enough to send a photo).
This kind of thing is what weβre trying to do at Patchβbe a community hub for people to share their triumphs, challenges and the occasional opossum problem. if you have something you think people should know about.
On a side note, there was another recent opossum sighting at a different home in Woodbury. Check it outβyou guessed itβin this weekβs police blotter.
