Blotter: Snowmobiles Stolen; Coyote Spotted Twice

Elsewhere in Woodbury, a car and television were stolen from a home on Eagle Trace Lane.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

Woodbury police were called to the PDQ gas station on Weir Drive on Jan. 6 on a report of a gas drive-off.

Police were called to East Ridge High School on Jan. 7 on a report that a cell phone valued at $50 had been stolen.

Two snowmobiles and a trailer were reported stolen from a home at the 3000 block of White Oaks Lane on Jan. 7. One of the snowmobiles was valued at $1,300, the other at $2,500. The trailer was valued at $6,000. The owner and neighbors had seen a gold Ford Taurus not usually seen in the neighborhood parked nearby in the days before the theft.

A laptop computer issued to a 3M employee was stolen from a vehicle parked at Throwbacks Grille & Bar on Jan. 7. The driver’s side window on the Jeep was broken.

A resident at the 300 block of Pendryn Hill Curve called police on Jan. 7 about a possible gunshot in the area. The noise was later learned to be fireworks; police could not locate the source.

A resident on the 1700 block of Lochaven Drive called police on Jan. 8 after he had received about 400 text messages in a one-hour span. The majority of the messages were one or two letters. Police contacted the woman sending the messages; she admitted she was doing it to “annoy” the man. She agreed to stop.

Police were called to the 2500 block of Copper Cliff Trail on Jan. 8 on a report that a resident was arguing with a taxi driver over the fare. The woman had taken the cab to McDonald’s and back, but was upset with the cost. Officers arrived and she agreed to pay the cab driver $15.

A woman called police to the Cub Foods in Woodbury on Jan. 8 on a report that a man driving a white Cadillac Escalade was screaming at her and spat on her car. The man, who told police they got into an argument over her driving, was issued a disorderly conduct citation.

A man at the 10600 block of Water Lily Lane called police on Jan. 9 to report that he had spotted a large coyote feeding in his backyard. Police told the man that the city does not track coyote sightings, but instructed him to call back if the animal became aggressive. Six hours later police received a call from a woman near the intersection of Lake Road and Radio Drive about a coyote sighting.

A red Ford F150 was reported stolen Jan. 10 by a man at the 1600 block of Century Circle.

A television and vehicle were reported stolen from a home at the 2500 block of Eagle Trace Lane on Jan. 11. The caller hadn’t been to the home since mid-November and infrequently checked on the house. There appeared to be no forced entry but the 2005 Toyota Scion was taken from a closed garage.
