Blue Thumb Raingarden Workshop

On Tuesday, March 4 and on Tuesday, March 11, the East
Metro Water Resource Education Program (EMWREP) is teaming up with the Ramsey
Washington Metro Watershed District (RWMWD) and the Washington Conservation
District (WCD) to host two FREE Raingarden workshops for area residents.

Learn all about raingardens – where, why, and how to
plant them – as well as how to tap into free site visits, design assistance and
even grants through your local watershed district to help you get started.
Raingardens are simply bowl shaped gardens that collect and infiltrate
stormwater runoff that beautify your yard, create habitat for bees, birds and
butterflies, and protect your local lakes and rivers.

After a brief informational presentation from a water
educator, Master Gardeners from Washington County will be there to answer
additional questions and help you get started on designing your own raingarden.
We will have a wealth of resources available to review, including native plants
guides and samples of raingardens that other homeowners have created.

The workshops are FREE and open to the public, but please

the design portion of the workshop. RSVP to Shelly at 651-792-7965 or shelly.melser@rwmwd.org.
