Woodbury Leadership Academy (WLA) is a tuition-free, K-12 public charter school where high expectations and success matter to all! Our learning environment and school community promotes academic achievement for students in grades K-12, as well as personal integrity, equity and a dedication to value and serve others. Our school is committed to our students’ long term success. We use inquiry based learning by teaching the Core Knowledge Curriculum — building strong skills in math, reading, writing, history, science and technology. We also have a strong character education program to ensure students develop exceptional leadership skills. The character education program includes service learning projects and a focus of five core virtues - respect, responsibility, perseverance, gratitude and humanity. WLA uses the rigorous and classical Core Knowledge Curriculum to build strong foundational knowledge across subjects, promoting academic excellence and equity. By ensuring all students share common knowledge, we can narrow achievement gaps and build critical thinking and long-term success. A home at the 3600 block of Village Court was broken into and several pieces of jewelry valued at $60,000 total were reported stolen on Feb. 17. There were two pry marks on the front door, according to a report, though it was initially thought that entry wasn't gained. It wasn't until later that the resident discovered that the jewelry was missing. The woman had left for the drug store and returned to find the damage, the report says. The woman doesn't have any staff or any construction work going on at the home. She also told police that the night before someone rang her doorbell at 3:15 a.m.
