Brief: Lawmakers Representing Woodbury Decline Pay

The legislators who represent Woodbury say they won’t accept their paychecks during the Minnesota government shutdown, according to City Pages.
The Twin Cities weekly publication reports on which lawmakers have decided not to accept their paychecks.
Woodbury Republican Rep. Andrea Kieffer did receive her check on July 1, but told City Pages there was a mix-up when she initially tried to decline it, and she plans to donate the money to a local food shelf.

Sen. Ted Lillie and Rep. Kathy Lohmer—Lake Elmo Republicans who represent Woodbury—tell City Pages they won’t accept their paychecks, as well.
Gov. Dayton, too, has announced that he would forgo a paycheck as he and GOP leaders work toward a budget agreement that would bring an end to the state government shutdown.
