Open Door Community Theatre presents Footloose: The Musical, a high energy stage adaptation of the hit movie Footloose, bursting with electrifying dance, unforgettable music, and a powerful story about freedom and self expression.
When city teenager Ren McCormack moves to a small, conservative town, he's shocked to discover that dancing and rock music are banned. Determined to bring joy and change, Ren challenges the strict rules enforced by the town's influential preacher, Reverend Shaw Moore, whose own past tragedy fuels his beliefs. Along the way, Ren forms a bond with the preacher's rebellious daughter, Ariel, and inspires the town's youth to stand up for their right to celebrate life.
Featuring iconic songs like "Footloose," "Let's Hear It for the Boy," and "Holding Out for a Hero," this crowd pleasing musical is a celebration of youth, courage, and the transformative power of music.
