Pickup Driver Dies In Cottage Grove Train Bridge Crash

The driver was not breathing when paramedics arrived on the scene Monday.

COTTAGE GROVE, MN — Police say a man from Grey Cloud Island Township died Monday after crashing into a train bridge in Cottage Grove. On Oct. 30 just after 12 p.m., Cottage Grove police and paramedics were dispatched to a single-car crash on the 6500 block of 103rd Street South. They found a pickup truck pinned under the railroad bridge.

The driver, identified as Lev Joseph Dyadkin, 61, was not breathing when paramedics arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only person in the car during the crash.

Police believe Dyadkin became pinned when the truck hit a concrete pillar after going west into bridge, according to the Pioneer Press.
