East Metro Gets New ALDI Location: Ribbon-Cutting Info

MAPLEWOOD, MN — On Thursday, May 18, ALDI will offer Maplewood residents a fresh shopping experience as it opens its first Maplewood store, located at 3000 White Bear Ave. To celebrate the opening of its first Maplewood store, ALDI will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:25 a.m. on Thursday, May 18. The public is invited to attend.

Following the ceremony, the first 100 customers will receive a golden ticket, each containing ALDI gift cards of various amounts. Customers can also tour the store and enter an on-site sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of ALDI produce, according to a news release.

“We know Maplewood residents are looking for a great value and quality groceries they love,” said Matt Lilla, Faribault division vice president of ALDI, in a statement. “By offering quality exclusive brand products at affordable prices, ALDI is the answer to customer’s needs. Whether shoppers are looking for USDA Choice meats, organic fruits and vegetables or gluten-free options, we have them covered with an unmatched combination of great-quality products and everyday low prices.”

ALDI saves money by cutting overhead costs through smart practices, such as a cart rental system: ALDI shoppers insert a quarter to release a cart from the corral and receive the quarter back upon the cart’s return. Other cost-saving practices include a smaller store footprint, open carton displays and encouraging customers to bring their own shopping bags. ALDI also saves shoppers money by keeping stores open during prime shopping times, according to the company.

The new Maplewood location will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. until Monday, May 29. Starting Tuesday, May 30, the store will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday. All ALDI stores nationwide accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
