East Metro Lane Closures: Highway 96
Motorists will encounter alternating lane closures on Highway 96 in the east Twin Cities metro starting on Tuesday, May 16.
Motorists will encounter alternating lane closures on Highway 96 in White Bear Lake starting on Tuesday, May 16 through Saturday, May 20, weather permitting. Beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, westbound Highway 96 between Centerville Road and White Bear Parkway will be reduced to a single lane as crews repair and cure a concrete panel on the road. All lanes are expected to re-open on Saturday, May 20.
The lane closures are part of the two-year I-35E Goose Lake Road and Highway 96 road resurfacing project. In addition to resurfacing, the work includes widening the road, re-decking and widening the Highway 96 bridge, replacing the I-35E bridges over Goose Lake Road, updating drainage, repairing guardrail and constructing a trail.
The work is expected to be complete by late summer 2017, according to a news release.
