East Ridge Batters Inver Grove Heights
After losing to Woodbury Blue earlier in the day, Raptors claim 11-1 win on Tuesday night at Simley High School.
The East Ridge Legion baseball team broke out the bats in a big way with a seven-run sixth inning that led to an 11-1 victory at Inver Grove Heights on Tuesday night.
Getting on the board early with two runs in each of the first two innings, the Raptors never trailed, and got out of bases-loaded jams in both the second and third innings of what remained a close game before the late-game breakout.
Starting pitcher John Chatterton earned the win with five innings of work off the mound before reliever David Lang pitched the final frame, coaxing a strikeout and a game-ending double play after giving up a lead-off single.

The contest ended with an inning to spare due to the 10-run rule and concluded an otherwise long day for the Raptors that included a finish to a previously rain-suspended contest versus Woodbury Blue.
East Ridge fell 6-5 to its cross-town rivals in that contest to briefly drop below .500 before the evening triumph leveled the Raptors' record at 14-14.
