After going down 2-0 in the first period, the boys hockey team clawed their way back but fell short in a 4-3 thriller Thursday night against Apple Valley.
Tied 3-3 at the end of regulation, Apple Valley ruined the Raptors' home opener with a quick score. Juniors Tyler Hart, Jack Greeley and Devin Donahue scored for East Ridge.
The Raptors fall to 1-1 on the season and meet on Saturday, when the the number worn by former teammate Braedon Hyland, the East Ridge hockey player will be retired.
