Football Friday: Cretin-Derham Hall at Woodbury
Woodbury takes on Raiders team that's strong on offense, defense.

Both teams have put up impressive offensive numbers offensively this season—33.2 ppg. for the Raiders, 31.8 ppg. for the —but the Raiders also boast one of the stingiest defenses in the state in Class AAAAA, allowing just 8.0 points per game through six weeks. Top-ranked Eden Prairie (5.7 ppg.), Owatonna (8.0) and Mounds View (9.0) are the only other teams allowing fewer than 10 ppg.
Cretin-Derham Hall (6-0, 6-0 Suburban East Conference) scored an easy 35-6 win over Forest Lake; Woodbury (4-2, 4-2 SEC) .

The Raiders are the top team in the section in the QRF ranking system used to determine playoff seeding. The Royals are a distant second in that system, and the only ones with even a remote chance to dislodge CDH from that top spot.

A loss here doesn't hurt the Royals too much. If they win their final game next Wednesday against Forest Lake, they should get the No. 2 seed for the section playoffs and a first-round rematch with a Park team they routed 49-13 earlier this season.
PlaymakersQuran Al-Hameed (Woodbury, running back)
Al-Hameed tore up the Roseville defense to the tune of 235 yards and three touchdowns last Friday night.
Cam Maslonka (Woodbury, linebacker)
Maslonka suffered a separated shoulder in the Royals win over East Ridge on Sept. 23, and will return to action for the first time Friday.
Kendrik Brewster (Cretin-Derham Hall, running back)
Brewster ran for 145 yards and two touchdowns against Forest Lake, his fourth straight 100-yard game. He now has 624 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season.
Royals Win If...Their defense can rise to the occasion. It's unrealistic to think Woodbury is going to hit its offensive average (31.8 ppg.) against a defense that's yielded just 48 points all season, which means the defense is going to have to keep the Raiders in the teens or 20s if the Royals are going to have a chance.
Raiders Win If...Their defense keeps doing what it's been doing. Hastings is the only team that's reached double digits against CDH so far, so while Woodbury has a nice array of offensive weapons, they haven't faced a defense of this caliber all season.
