Heads Up, Woodbury: Highway 61 Construction Starting In Spring

Highway 95 between Highway 61 to Valley Creek Road in Woodbury will undergo a series of safety improvement projects from 2017 through 2019. Here's what you need to know:

Construction Schedule

• Spring 2017: Hwy 95/Manning Avenue at Valley Creek Rd
• Spring 2018: Bailey Rd/Co Rd 18 to 70th St/Co Rd 22
• Spring 2019: 70th St/Co Rd 22 to Hwy 61

MnDOT says dates for specific traffic impacts will be posted once they are available.

Summary of work at Valley Creek Road

• Construct northbound turn lanes
• Build filtration basin southwest of the intersection
• Install mumble shoulder strips

Summary of work for 2018 and 2019 construction

• Widen shoulders
• Add right turn lanes
• Update drainage
• Resurface road

Traffic impacts

Highway 95 at Valley Creek Rd

• SB Highway 95 will be detoured for approximately 3 months
  • Detour: WB I-94 to Woodbury Dr, Bailey Rd to Highway 95
• Note: NB Highway 95 access will be maintained during construction

Highway 95 from Bailey Road to Highway 61

• There will be temporary road closures and lane closures.
