Homeowners Should Ensure Their Furnaces Are Operating Efficiently

To be eligible, a property must be valued at or below $390,000 with a household income of less than $126,000.

Winter is right around the corner. This is the time homeowners should ensure their furnaces are operating efficiently. There are resources available to help prepare.

The Woodbury Housing and Redevelopment Authority offers low-interest loans to help property owners with remodeling and repair of their homes.

To be eligible, a property must be valued at or below $390,000 with a household income of less than $126,000. Replacing an old furnace with a newer model may result in immediate cost savings from enhanced energy efficiency. The Neighborhood Reinvestment Fund has a broad range of eligible uses and can help pay for adding insulation to a home, updating windows and more.

Federal energy assistance programs (EAP) are administered in Woodbury by the Community Action Partnership of Ramsey and Washington Counties (CAPRW). EAP assists income-eligible households maintain affordable, continuous and safe home energy. The program includes bill payment assistance, home energy crisis intervention, information about utility consumer rights and more.
