Liquor Licenses Approved for Woody’s, Eagle Valley Golf Course

With no discussion Wednesday night, the Woodbury City Council approved liquor licenses for Woody’s Roadhouse and .

coming in at the former Throwbacks Grille and Bar. It's set to reopen as Woody's later this month.

Woody’s officials have said that the restaurant will have a totally different concept.

“In this day and age, entertainment venues just don’t survive,” General Manager David Harvey told Patch. “We’re no longer going to be an entertainment venue that serves food, we’re going to be a restaurant with entertainment in the evenings.”

Meanwhile, the city’s municipal golf course will now be able to serve booze. It formerly served only strong beer and wine.

The move to upgrade the Eagle Valley Golf Course’s liquor license was primarily made .

Both measures passed unanimously. No one spoke during public hearings on the liquor licenses.

The pond that caused so many issues at Woodbury’s Dancing Waters development hasn’t run into any problems over the past five years the city has been monitoring it, according to Community Development Director Dwight Picha.

While one resident voiced a few concerns over the latest portion of the development, the Woodbury City Council on Wednesday unanimously approved moving ahead with the new phase. Plans call for 91 single-family homes and 18 townhomes at the site, generally east of Settlers Ridge Parkway about a half mile north of Valley Creek Road.

The pond has been sealed and over the past five years, “It has operated as we expected it would,” Public Works Director David Jessup said.
