Wife Fatally Stabs Husband In Washington County Home: Report

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN — Police say one man is dead after he was stabbed in a Newport home Sunday. The Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call at a house in the 400 block of 6th Avenue at about 6:30 a.m.

A man and a woman were transported to a hospital. The man did not survive.

According to emergency dispatch audio, the woman told authorities she stabbed her husband after he tried to kill her earlier, the Star Tribune reported.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office Investigations Unit and Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Crime Scene Team are investigating the incident.
