Minnesota's First Portillo's Opens Tuesday

Portillo's is known for its Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago-style hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, and its old-school style of taking orders.

WOODBURY, MN – The long wait is over. Minnesotans can finally enjoy a Portillo's hot dog without having to leave the state. The state's first Portillo’s opened at 10:30 a.m. at 8450 Hudson Road in Woodbury Tuesday.

Portillo’s, a popular drive-in selling Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago-style hot dogs, hamburgers, and salads, is known for its old-school style of taking orders — which are written in pencil on a white paper bag. The Woodbury location features 1920s Prohibition-era décor that includes photos of Chicago-based gangsters, such as Al Capone. The restaurant has a full brick exterior and patio.
