Nadia Cakes to Open One-Stop Sweets Shop in Woodbury
Sweet news for Woodbury as Nadia Cakes prepares to open its second metro location there - with even more treats to chose from.
Maple Grove’s beloved, award-winning Nadia Cakes, the Twin Cities’ premier cupcake and custom cake studio, is gushing over its plans to open a one-stop sweets shop in Woodbury just in time for Valentine’s Day. Upon opening, the store will satisfy even the sweetest tooth with its vast selection of ice cream flavors, sundaes, malts, shakes, pastries, cakes, and, of course, its famous cupcakes.
“The last two years in Maple Grove have been amazing as cake lovers have flocked to our store and devoured our sweet treats,” said Abby Jimenez, Nadia Cakes founder. “It seems only right to spread the love and give our east metro fans a shorter commute!”
According to Jimenez, who was the first pastry chef in Minnesota to win the Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars,” Erin Campbell, general manager at Nadia Cake’s Palmdale, Calif., store, will relocate to Minnesota to manage the new store and serve as its head pastry chef. Campbell herself has an impressive background that includes serving as head chocolatier at Newport Beach, Calif.-based Chocolate Graphics and head baker at The Cupcake Store, the official cupcake provider for Disneyland.

“Erin is an incredibly talented baker who is sure to delight customers with her pastries and baked goods,” said Jimenez. “She visited Minnesota last winter and, believe it or not, loved it. I have no doubt that Minnesotans will love her, too!”
Construction is already underway on the 2,700-square foot Woodbury store, which is located near the intersection of Commerce Drive and Woodbury Drive. The store is expected to open in late January or early February.
