Oakdale Woman Killed After Car Hits Deer In East Metro
The woman, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

MAPLEWOOD, MN — An Oakdale woman died after the car she was a passenger in struck a deer on Highway 36 in Maplewood Sunday evening. The RAV4 was traveling westbound at 5:20 p.m. near Edgerton Street when it collided with a deer in the left lane, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
After hitting the deer, the car lost control and ended up in the north ditch, authorities said.
Jody Rae Bergsgaard, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Robert Gregory Bergsgaard, 61, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Regions Hospital.
