Woodbury Leadership Academy (WLA) is a tuition-free, K-12 public charter school where high expectations and success matter to all! Our learning environment and school community promotes academic achievement for students in grades K-12, as well as personal integrity, equity and a dedication to value and serve others. Our school is committed to our students’ long term success. We use inquiry based learning by teaching the Core Knowledge Curriculum — building strong skills in math, reading, writing, history, science and technology. We also have a strong character education program to ensure students develop exceptional leadership skills. The character education program includes service learning projects and a focus of five core virtues - respect, responsibility, perseverance, gratitude and humanity. WLA uses the rigorous and classical Core Knowledge Curriculum to build strong foundational knowledge across subjects, promoting academic excellence and equity. By ensuring all students share common knowledge, we can narrow achievement gaps and build critical thinking and long-term success. The academic rigor at WLA prepares students for college and ready to lead. We out-perform the MCA Minnesota State average in all categories! Check out our report card. WLA is a public school with a private school feeling. WLA students wear school uniforms to promote equality, reduce peer pressure, and minimize distractions. Small class sizes at WLA allow for teachers and staff to provide personalized instruction, build strong relationships, and increase student engagement. Regions Hospital is offering a child and booster seat safety clinic. Certified car seat technicians from Regions Hospital will teach you how to install and use child car restraints correctly. The car seat clinic will take place Saturday, Sept. 17, from 9 :00 a.m until 12:00 p.m. at Fox Run Fire Station, 1275 Woodbury Drive.There is no charge for this clinic.
