Sports Roundup: East Ridge Girls Win Milaca Mega Meet
Ness leads Raptors to victory in 20-team race on Saturday.

The cross-country teams competed in one of the three massive meets in the state last Saturday, with the girls bringing home a title as they continued to rev up toward what could be a big October and November.
East Ridge Cross-Country
With Bailey Ness leading the way, finishing fifth in 15 minutes, 7.5 seconds, the East Ridge girls cross-country team won the 20-team AAAA Division of the Milaca Mega Meet.

Also contributing to the Raptors' winning score of 80 points—46 points better than second-place Andover—were: Emily Betz (15:21.8) in 11th, Brenley Goertzen (15:30.5) in 15th, Liz Maata (15:45.5) in 25th and Taylor Jackson (15:48.5) in 25th. Abbey Beissler (15:49.3) in 27th and Megan Schiferl (16:01.5) in 32nd also competed.
The East Ridge boys placed ninth, led by Nate Roese's 10th-place finish of 16:37.7.

New Life Football
The football team fell to 1-3 with a 42-12 loss to St. Croix Lutheran—the sixth-ranked team in Class AAA—on Friday at East Ridge. Individual statistics were not made available.
Woodbury Girls Soccer
After losing 1-0 to Mahtomedi on Saturday, the sixth-ranked , 2-1, on Tuesday to improve to 10-3 overall.
With three games remaining in the regular season, the Royals are 6-0 in the Suburban East Conference and could claim the circuit championship on Thursday against White Bear Lake. The Bears are currently in second in the SEC with a 5-1 league record.

The East Ridge boys soccer team blanked Hastings, 5-0, on Tuesday to improve to 6-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the SEC.
Heading into the game, Won Suk Chung led the Raptors with 14 goals, while Luke Featherstone's six assists were tops on the team.
New Life Boys Soccer
The New Life boys soccer team shutout West Lutheran, 2-0, on Saturday behind two goals from Noah Kreiner and a shared clean sheet from goalkeepers Tyler Palesh and Tim Kesting. The victory upped the Eagles to 5-6-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the conference.
Woodbury Volleyball
Woodbury fell from the top rung of the SEC with its on Tuesday, dropping the Royals to 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the SEC.
Sara Biermaier topped the Royals with eight kills, with Kelsey Schulte and Abyssinia Andualem-Emiru both logging 15 assists each; Ericka Johnson topped the squad with 13 digs.
East Ridge Volleyball
