St. Paul Man Charged Following Woodbury Jewelry Heist
The suspected burglar was arrested after he ran out of gas.

A St. Paul man suspected in an Oct. 17 Woodbury jewelry theft was arrested 30-40 minutes after the break-in when his car ran out of gas in Newport.
Carl Junior Jordan, 23, faces one count of second-degree burglary following the incident at the 6800 block of Orchard Ridge Trail in Woodbury.

on Oct. 17 were called about a suspicious person near the intersection of Orchard Ridge Trail and Kalen Drive in Woodbury, according to the criminal complaint. A short time later, Newport police reported that a manβlater identified as Jordanβwas on the side of the road at Glen Road and 10th Street after his car ran out of gas.
He was acting antsy and nervous, according to the complaint, and matched the description of the individual involved in the Woodbury break-in. He was also driving a white Chevrolet similar to one reported near the home at the time of the theft.Β

More than 130 items of jewelry worth $8,172 were recovered from Jordanβs vehicle, according to the complaint. The total value of items stolen was estimated at $13,172 to $18,172; a Rolex watch belonging to the homeowner was not found.
If convicted, Jordan faces up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
