Suspected Drunk Driver Sideswipes Ambulance, Cop Car: Police

The SUV became disabled in the middle of the roadway, blocking both northbound and southbound lanes, police said.

MAPLEWOOD, MN — No injuries were reported after an SUV crashed into two Maplewood city vehicles early Monday. The Minnesota State Patrol says the driver of the SUV was under the influence of alcohol.

A Maplewood ambulance and police squad were both traveling northbound on Highway 120. Authorities say the SUV — going southbound on Highway 120 — drove into the northbound lanes just before 2:30 a.m.

The ambulance swerved to the right shoulder to avoid the SUV but was sideswiped. The squad also swerved but was sideswiped by the SUV as well, according to police.
