Two Lanes Too Much for Washington County Roundabouts

Two's a crowd when in comes to roundabout lanes in Washington County. 

That's according to a St. Paul Pioneer Press article about the conversion of two roundabouts this August:


The roundabouts -- one at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Lake Street in Forest Lake and one at Radio Drive and Bailey Road in Woodbury -- soon will be reduced to one lane.

"The two-lane roundabouts seem to create more confusion for people. I don't think there are a lot of them around, so people aren't used to those yet," said Jeff Brunner, a Minnesota Department of Transportation engineer.
