This year's Washington County Historical Society Annual Membership Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 27th, 2014 at the Water Street Inn, in downtown Stillwater. Former Vice President Walter Mondale will be the featured speaker during this event. Mr. Mondale will discuss his work on the Wild And Scenic River Act during his presentation.
Mr. Mondale has had an extremely high profile political career including representing Minnesota in the US Senate from 1964 to 1976, serving as Ambassador to Japan from 1993 to 1996 and, of course, holding the office of Vice President under Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981.
The evening will begin with a social hour at 5:30 PM, followed by dinner at 6:30. A meeting covering WCHS business will be held at 7:30 and Mr. Mondale's presentation will begin around 8:00 PM.
