Woodbury Coffee Shop Expands Under New Name, Massage Envy Also Grows
Sati Coffee—now Brix Coffee, Crepes, Custard—has moved into the former jewelry store space, while Massage Envy expands into former Sati location.
Two Woodbury businesses have more to offer residents thanks to recent expansions.
(formerly Sati Coffee) has moved into the former location on Commons Drive. Massage Envy, meanwhile expanded into the coffee shop space.
BrixThe Brix move was completed on Dec. 30, said owner Karen Mohs.

Since she took ownership of the coffee and crepe shop in May 2010, Mohs had been looking to expand. When Wedgewood closed, she jumped at the chance to have greater visibility from Radio Drive, construct a patio and improve signage at the building (572 Commons Drive).
Those improvements result in an “improved energy,” Mohs said. She also hopes the new location, which is now laden with windows, draws in more customers.

“Radio Drive is still main street Woodbury,” Mohs said. “To create that visual on this end, that was really key for us.”
The new space also allows Brix to add to its crepe menu (there are two new burners), and Mohs said the shop plans to offer new selections of crepes and other food quarterly.
Also new with the expansion is more frozen custard. It’s similar to the frozen custard sold at Culver’s, Mohs said.
The décor is much the same, with the signature white subway tiles, arched ceilings and cozy fireplace area. Keeping the overall aesthetic the same was validated by one customer.
“When we were closed a customer came over—I don’t think he knew we were closed—and asked if it was going to look the same,” Mohs said. “I told him yes, and he said, ‘Oh, thank god, that’s the reason I come here.’”
A grand reopening event is set for Feb. 11 at Brix.
“(Massage Envy owner Gary Meyers) and I were really excited about it because, for the most part, we feel our clientele is similar,” Mohs said.
Massage EnvyOver at Massage Envy, about 900 square feet have been added to the space, said owner Gary Meyers, who also serves as regional developer for Massage Envy and recently opened a new shop in Roseville.
“It’s going really well, Meyers said of the expansion, the first phase of which was completed about two months ago.
The second phase of growth will begin in the next couple of weeks, he said.
The entryway has been updated and there are five new massage rooms and a new break room, Meyers said.
Like Mohs, Meyers too said the closure of Wedgewood Jewelers presented a great opportunity for Massage Envy, which first opened in Woodbury five years ago.
“We’re giving our business a facelift,” he said.
