Woodbury Family's Jeep Goes Airborne, Lands On Roof

DOUGLAS COUNTY, MN — Four members of a Woodbury family suffered non-life threatening injuries after the vehicle they were in flipped on Interstate 94. The crash happened in Evansville Township.

Their 2013 Jeep was westbound on I-94 in the left lane near MP81 when the driver noticed some tire debris. While attempting to avoid the debris, the Jeep ran off the road left into the median. After hitting a piece of high ground near a culvert, the vehicle went airborne, came down, and rolled several times, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The vehicle came to a rest on its roof. All four occupants, including two five-year-olds, the driver Patrick Raymond Schaffer, 73, and passenger Pamela Jo Schaffer, 66, were treated at Douglas County Memorial.

All were wearing their seat belts, and all are expected to survive their injuries.
