Woodbury High School's Lisa Hyland Named 2016 Educator Of The Year

Woodbury High School's Lisa Hyland has been named the Woodbury Area Chamber of Commerce 2016 Educator of the Year.

Woodbury High School Student Achievement Specialist and AVID Program Coordinator Lisa Hyland has been named the Woodbury Area Chamber of Commerce 2016 Educator of the Year.

"Lisa has made a difference in the lives of many students as she has continuously worked hard to prepare them for their post-secondary education," the school said in a news release.

"She is also having a profound impact on parents through a six-week program designed to help them learn how to support their children in their high school years."

"Her success with peers, students and families stems from Lisa’s drive as an educator, teamed with being an effective communicator with a warm and friendly personality. District 833 is proud of Lisa’s many accomplishments and would like to congratulate her on being named 2016 Woodbury Area Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year."

Andy Hill, a social studies teacher and Woodbury High School’s head football coach, was also a finalist for the award.

Both Lisa and Andy were in attendance at the Chamber’s annual Community Awards Celebration on Jan. 27 at the Envision Event Center.
