Woodbury Leadership Academy (WLA) is a tuition-free, K-12 public charter school where high expectations and success matter to all! Our learning environment and school community promotes academic achievement for students in grades K-12, as well as personal integrity, equity and a dedication to value and serve others. Our school is committed to our students’ long term success. We use inquiry based learning by teaching the Core Knowledge Curriculum — building strong skills in math, reading, writing, history, science and technology. We also have a strong character education program to ensure students develop exceptional leadership skills. The character education program includes service learning projects and a focus of five core virtues - respect, responsibility, perseverance, gratitude and humanity. WLA uses the rigorous and classical Core Knowledge Curriculum to build strong foundational knowledge across subjects, promoting academic excellence and equity. By ensuring all students share common knowledge, we can narrow achievement gaps and build critical thinking and long-term success. WOODBURY, MN — Washington County Attorney Pete Orput this week announced that Hai Jay Phu Vu, 54, of Woodbury was ordered to pay statutory restitution of $772,439 upon his conviction on a massive identity theft and unemployment compensation fraud. <a href="https://patch.com/minnesota/woodbury/homeless-shelter-theft-paid-daughter-s-private-school-cops">Vu was convicted and sentenced</a> to 78 months in prison on Sept. 17, by District Court Judge Mary Hannon. She scheduled a separate hearing to determine restitution for late last month.
