Woodbury Man Says He Took 6 Shots Before Driving 107 MPH: Cops

The man displayed "many indicators" of impairment during the traffic stop, authorities said.

WOODBURY, MN — The Minnesota State Patrol says one of its troopers pulled over a man last month in Woodbury for going 107 mph in a 60 mph zone. The man displayed "many indicators" of impairment during the traffic stop, authorities said.

The driver admitted drinking at least six shots and said he was in no condition to drive, according to investigators. The man’s blood-alcohol content was .17 percent, the State Patrol said.

He was arrested for second-degree DWI.

Authorities say that wasn't the only speeder they caught drinking last month.

Police say a vehicle was spotted going 106 mph passed a trooper. When the vehicle caught up to traffic, it started tailgating before nearly striking a bridge wall, police said.

The trooper stopped the woman, who said she was going to work. Her blood-alcohol content was .23 percent and she was arrested for third-degree DWI, according to the State Patrol.
