Woodbury PD Blotter: June 10-14

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A couple of notes from recent Woodbury Police Department incident reports: there were 14 watering violations in the city from June 10-14 and a number of speeding tickets were handed out near the intersection of Valley Creek Road and Parkwood Drive.

A $15 baby book was stolen from Party City on June 10. An employee got the license plate number of the vehicle in which the woman left, and police were able to track down the culprit, who agreed to return to the store and pay for it. The woman also admitted to stealing meat from Rainbow Foods on June 8.

Three pairs of sunglasses, valued at $100 each, and a laptop charger were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle at the 8700 block of Acadia Road on June 10.

Security officers at Woodbury Lakes called police on June 10 after finding an injured domesticated dove. The bird let people touch it and had a band on its leg. Police transported it to the Humane Society.

A caretaker for Powers Lake East Park called police on June 10 after finding spray paint on the basketball court, a backboard and a sign.

A cement-block fire pit at St. John Lutheran Church was dismantled sometime last week. Police got the call on June 10.

A resident at the 6200 block of Crackleberry Alcove called police on June 10 after learning that a neighbor was hosting a large fundraiser for muscular dystrophy research. The man was concerned about parking issues and possible ordinance violations. Police told him to call if there were any problems.

Police were called about a road rage incident near Radio Drive and Lake Road on June 11. Officers made contact with both parties and found that there was a dispute about a lane change that escalated, with one person cursing at the other and one vehicle tailgating the other.

A camera and related equipment valued at $1,800 was reported stolen from a vehicle at the 6200 block of Edgewood Avenue on June 11.

A resident at the 3100 block of Leyland Trail called police on June 11 after hearing a loud boom that she said shook her house. Police found that the noise came from an aerosol can that had accidentally gone into a bonfire at a nearby home.

Police were called to a parcel near the intersection of Hudson Road and Manning Avenue on June 12 after a resident said he saw cows outside a fence near the road. Police arrived to find baby cows feeding on the side of the road. An officer herded the animals back behind the fence and spoke with the homeowner, who said he had issues with the fence and would repair it.

Tools, a suitcase and possibly other items were reported stolen from a garage at the 6900 block of Ashwood Road on June 12.

A man who had a prescription for 10 Vicodin and tried to change the number to 40 at Walgreens was arrested on June 12. He was booked at the Washington County Jail and released.

Police were called to the 1200 block of Lakemoor Drive on June 13 after a window on a resident’s car was broken out. No items were taken.

A resident at the 1100 block of Hillcrest Court called police on June 13 after a car, parked in a driveway, had been rummaged through. The glove box, trunk and center console were open. Nothing was taken.

A GPS device was reported stolen from a vehicle at the 1000 block of Drew Drive on June 13. A neighbor reported hearing people on skateboards whispering at about 4:15 a.m.

A car stereo, iPod, speakers and other items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at Lakes Tavern and Grill on June 13.

A car parked at the 6800 block of Sandlewood Road was reported rummaged through on June 13. Nothing was taken.

The faceplate of a stereo was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at Rainbow Foods on June 13.

Light bulbs were reported stolen from a home at the 1700 block of Spinaker Drive on June 14. It was the second time light bulbs have been stolen from the home. Police have received other similar reports recently.

Police were called to a home at the 1000 block of Regency Drive on June 14 after a dispute between neighbors became violent. As a man was leaving his home in his car, a neighbor came over with a baseball bat and threatened to beat him. The driver backed into his garage and shut the door. The other man hit the garage door with the bat several times and kicked the car. Charges are pending.
