Woodbury PD Blotter: McNap, Road Rage Retaliation, Life Lesson

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A goose was able to free itself after it became stuck in a pond near .

A man who lives at the 6800 block of Sandlewood Road stopped into the to report that UPS packages had been stolen from his front stoop. The packages contained an inflatable Coca-Cola chair (no value) and Chinese herbal diet pills valued at $70.

Police were called after a deaf man wouldn’t let another vehicle follow him into an underground parking garage at the 10100 block of City Walk Drive. It’s the building’s policy not to do so. The deaf man was approached by the other and, despite his hearing loss, he could tell the other man was yelling and swearing at him because he had to wait.

Two vehicles—a Ford Explorer and a Honda Element—had windows smashed out and items taken while they were parked at the . One of the victims had her credit cards used in St. Paul.

Police issues trespass notices to two women at Sally’s Beauty Supply, though employees didn’t want to press charges. One of the women gave officers items she had placed in her purse and left.

A resident at the 6700 block of Christian Curve came into the Public Safety Department to report that, after having four friends over the night before, she found that a three-day supply of methadone was missing from her refrigerator. She did not give police the names of the guests, but wanted it documented so she could get another prescription. She also expressed concern over her liability would be if someone else took the methadone.

Police were called about a road rage incident near Valley Creek Road and Woodlane Drive. A motorist was reportedly slamming on his breaks in front of other vehicles and following one vehicle too closely. Police found the man, who said the caller was doing the same thing and he reciprocated. Police said he would have been at fault in the event of a crash and he apologized.

A woman sprinted away from employees at and got into a vehicle and sped away after she set off the sensors at the doors.

A resident at the 1500 block of Parkwood Drive said he returned from a trip to Japan to find that his vehicle, parked in an underground garage, had been broken into. A window was broken and a GPS unit ($200) was taken, along with a battery charger ($100).

Once again an electrical box was spray-painted with the word “anon,” this time near the intersection of Montrose Road and Woodlane Drive.

A Cottage Grove man pulled over for speeding at the 6000 block of Woodbury Drive was cited for that offense and for having a “one-hitter” marijuana pipe in his car. He told police he hadn’t seen the pipe for months.

A St. Paul woman made her son return a lighter he stole from the Woodbury on Weir Drive.

Police were called after two individuals were spotted running into back yards of homes and looking into a car near the 900 block of Stewarton Drive. There was a 15-minute delay between the time a resident spotted them and the call to police; officers were unable to locate anyone.

A resident at the 3000 block of Meadow Brook Drive called police to report that her home was shaking, there was a knocking noise coming from somewhere in the house and her kitchen lights went out. Police found a pipe in the basement knocking and advised her to call a plumber.

A resident at the complex called police after a tow truck driver shined a light into his girlfriend’s apartment window.

Police were called after a man was seen not moving in a running vehicle for an hour at the parking lot. Police found that the man was sleeping and didn’t have any medical issues or signs of impairment.

A New Richmond, Wis., man called police after tools were stolen from his trailer while he was at either or Cub Foods.

A woman’s purse was reported stolen while she was shopping at .

Police were called about a possibly injured bald eagle at the fifth hole of . The eagle was able to fly off but it did appear to have an injured left talon.

A resident at the 9400 block of Preserve Trail reported that the front license plate of her vehicle had been stolen.

A Woodbury resident was cited for DWI after he was spotted speeding near Valley Creek Road and Parkwood Drive. He did poorly on field sobriety tests and agreed to a preliminary breath test, which came in at 0.16. His girlfriend drove the car home.
