Woodbury Real Estate Roundup for the week of July 8th, 2013

Even with the long holiday weekend buyer traffic remained strong as the push to get into a home before Labor Day comes to a close.

Inventory drops slightly and interest rates creep up again in the last week. Even with the long holiday weekend buyer traffic remained strong as the push to get into a home before Labor Day comes to a close. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many pending properties went through with the short week while strong number of 41 month end closings reduced the overall number of homes under contract.

Keep an eye on rates while values continue to increase thus reducing affordability (still well below the 40 yr avg). I talked to a home builder last week who learned of a projected 17,000 housing starts in the 7 county metro for 2014 and over 20,000 for 2015. Pretty bullish in my opinion but certainly feasible given the slow down of 2008-2011.

Information is gathered from the Northstar Multiple Listing System and "InfoSparks"

Good luck and happy home selling!
