Woodbury Seeks Applicants For Assistant City Administrator

Do you love Woodbury? Do you have strong management, analytical, and presentation skills? This may be the job for you.

WOODBURY, MN — The city of Woodbury is currently searching for candidates to fill a newly created role of Assistant City Administrator. The Assistant City Administrator will oversee the Administration Department, advance the city's strategic initiatives and implement an extensive performance measurement program.

The candidate should possess collaborative-management orientation, proven analytical abilities and strong writing, and presentation skills. Other skills include knowledge in organizational development and human resources. Comfort with a robust employee-engagement program is preferred, according to a news release.

Minimum Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Urban Studies or related field. A Master's degree in Public Administration is highly desired.
  • Six or more years of increasingly responsible municipal executive-level experience.
  • City Administrator or Assistant Administrator experience in a smaller community, or department head experience in a larger municipality will be considered.
  • Adeptness at working with elected officials and policy boards.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, demanding and rewarding environment.
