The postseason officially began locally on Tuesday as the and boys tennis teams both competed in the opening round of the Section 3AA Tournament.
Woodbury Boys Tennis: Royals 7, Park 0
The Woodbury boys tennis team, seeded third in the sectional, had no trouble disposing of No. 14 seed Park, 7-0, in the first round of 3AA play at Woodbury High School to advance to the quarterfinal bracket.

Individual results were not available. The Royals will host No. 6 seed Bloomington Jefferson on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

New Life Softball: Eagles 23, Academy For Sciences And Agriculture 0
A 23-0 no-hit victory versus the Academy for Sciences and Agriculture on Tuesday opened the Section 4A Tournament in resounding style for the softball team.
Malorie Giere had three RBIs to lead the Eagles, who found playing time for all of their varsity members in the contest. Rebekah Schmidt claimed the no-no with 14 strikeouts and two walks allowed in five innings of work in the abbreviated contest.

Woodbury Boys Lacrosse: Royals Miss Out On Chance At .500
After defeating Suburban East Conference opponent Stillwater 7-6 on Monday, the Woodbury boys lacrosse team was stymied, 12-11, by visiting Edina on Tuesday to fall to 5-7 overall—seriously damaging the Royals chances of finishing with a .500 record this spring.
Woodbury pulled into a second-place tie with the Ponies in the conference standings as each team close circuit play with a 4-2 Suburban East record.
However, by dropping two games below .500, the Royals will now have to defeat Totino-Grace in its regular-season finale on Friday at 7 p.m. and then win at least two sectional games—something the team has yet to do in its brief history—to finish with an even record.
Woodbury/East Ridge Girls Lacrosse: Griffins Suffer Worst Loss Of Season
After suffering its worst loss of the season, 21-3 at Stillwater on Monday, the Woodbury/East Ridge girls lacrosse team dropped to 5-6 with one game remaining in the regular season.
Sophia Bainbridge leads the Griffins with 24 goals this spring as the team will look to even its record at .500 before the playoffs as Roseville pays a visit for a 6 p.m. Wednesday game at Woodbury High School.
East Ridge/Park Boys Lacrosse: SWC 12, Farmington 3

The Woodbury boys golf team finished seventh, with East Ridge taking ninth, in a Suburban East meet at Forest Hills Country Club on Monday. The Royals posted a team score of 333, the Raptors a 345. Individual statistics were not available.
East Ridge Softball: Raptors 2, Mounds View 1
The East Ridge softball team closed out its regular season with a 2-1 defeat of visiting conference foe Mounds View on Monday to even the Raptors overall and Suburban East records at .500—10-10 and 7-7, respectively.
Pitcher Sam Gregory earned the win after striking out nine batters in a complete game appearance, while Alyssa Ronquillo went 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in the game-winning run.
Next up for the Raptors is the Section 4AAA Tournament, scheduled to run from May 23 though June 2. East Ridge's opening-round opponent has not yet been determined.
Woodbury Baseball: Hastings 9, Royals 8
Hastings dropped the Woodbury baseball team to 3-14 overall and 3-12 in the Suburban East with a 9-8 win at the conference's southernmost outpost on Monday.
Sean Scanlon led the Royals with three RBIs on a 3-for-4 day at the plate, while Austin Fleischhacker went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in the losing cause.

Woodbury Softball: White Bear Lake 3, Royals 2
White Bear Lake's three-run rally in the sixth inning spelled doom for the Woodbury softball team in a 3-2 decision on Monday at Ojibway Park.
The regular season-ending loss dropped the Royals to 8-9 overall and 5-9 in the Suburban East, with the Section 4AAA Tournament set to start against a yet-to-be determined opponent next week.
East Ridge Baseball: Raptors 8, Roseville 6
An 8-6 defeat of Roseville on Monday improved the East Ridge baseball team to 12-6 overall and 10-6 in the Suburban East.
Pitcher Mitch Luebbe earned the victory after scattering nine hits and three earned runs, while striking out four batters; Ryan Gregory led the Raptors at the plate with a 2-for-3 day and two runs batted in, while John Hietpas had a solo home run.
