Here are the top stories today in Jackson:

  1. A man was shot to death at Lynch Street and Highway 80 in Jackson. The 28-year-old victim, Christopher Johnson, was shot multiple times before succumbing to his injuries at Merit Health. The police are searching for a suspect and motive at this time. (WAPT Jackson)
  2. Jackson police responded to an incident at the Dollar Tree on Greenway Drive where one person was transported to the hospital via ambulance. There was also a shooting nearby on I-20 W., but police are unsure if the two incidents are related. (WJTV)
  3. A three-vehicle crash in downtown Jackson left several people injured; their conditions were not reported. (WLBT)
  4. The Operation Safe Corners Task Force is set to address the panhandling among the homeless in Jackson. (WLBT)
  5. Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, in partnership with Molina Healthcare of Mississippi, will host a drive-thru vaccine clinic in Carthage on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.(WJTV)
