• Group marches on Road of Remembrance to after hanging death of Tasia Fortune (wlbt.com) — Residents in Jackson gathered on Road of Remembrance as members of Israel United in Christ marched to the abandoned house where Tasia Fortune was found, calling attention to violence against women and others. The group's Jackson chapter, active since 2017, framed the event as a peaceful push for greater awareness and action against ongoing mistreatment in the community.
   

• Mississippi youth courts put prevention into practice (youthvillages.org) — Jackson hosted a major Mississippi Youth Court Institute gathering where judges and child welfare leaders explored how to support families earlier and avoid unnecessary removals. New Allies is funding pilot projects in several counties, testing better visitation, safety planning and substance-use support that could eventually influence how youth courts operate across the state, including in Jackson.
