JSU Hall of Fame ball player opens restaurant on campus (wapt.com) — Students and residents around Jackson State University have a new on-campus dining option, as M2Go has just opened inside the Lynch Street campus dining hall. Founded by JSU Sports Hall of Famer Richard Bradley, the restaurant serves wings, fish, burgers, and more, joining the recently opened Big Chicken in the student center's Legacy Food Court.
2. Mississippi Museum of Art Unveils Frank Lloyd Wright Restoration Plan and Takes Helm of State-of-the-Art Planetarium (northsidesun.com) — Jackson residents can look forward to a restored Frank Lloyd Wright house in Woodland Hills and a newly revamped McNair Davis Planetarium, both overseen by the Mississippi Museum of Art. The museum is fundraising for the Wright home's preservation and planning reservation-only tours, while also using the upgraded planetarium to boost downtown visits and expand STEAM-focused field trips.
3. PTI Golf Teams With Gogel for Greens, Tees, Bunkers Renovation at Country Club of Jackson (golfdaily.com) — Major upgrades at the Country Club of Jackson's Dogwood-Azalea course have wrapped up, with members now playing on newly rebuilt greens, tees, and bunkers. The renovation added forward tee boxes, refreshed practice areas, and even a new croquet court, aiming to better serve aging members and preserve a course that once hosted the Sanderson Farms Championship.
4. Laurene Powell Jobs and Darren Walker speak about community solutions and local journalism (mississippitoday.org) — A sold-out celebration at the Two Mississippi Museums in Jackson brought Laurene Powell Jobs, Darren Walker, and local leaders together to champion investing in community-driven solutions and nonprofit local journalism. Speakers highlighted Mississippi's national importance, the role of Jackson-based institutions, and how philanthropy is helping sustain newsrooms like Mississippi Today and Deep South Today for the long haul.
