Here are the top 3 stories today in Jackson:

  1. Early Wednesday morning, Jackson firefighters battled a massive fire at an abandoned building on Henry Hill Drive off I-20 and Highway 18. The blaze took hours to get under control and required additional trucks. There are no reports of injuries at this time and investigators are looking into the source of the fire. (WLBT)
  2. According to Deputy Chief Deric Hearn, the homicide on Wood Village Apartments reported yesterday appears to be justifiable homicide. The case, in which 31-year-old Ryan Daniels, allegedly lured the suspect using the cell phone of the suspect's ex-girlfriend, will be presented to a Hinds County grand jury. (WLBT)
  3. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings and his wife, Patricia Quillin, visited Tougaloo College on Monday to talk about their $10 million donation. Half of the donation will endow need-based scholarships while the remaining $5 million will help the Tougaloo students at Brown University participating in the Brown-Tougaloo exchange program.
