The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Jackson.

Good morning, Jackson! Like many of you, the Patch team is taking some time off to enjoy the holidays, so there will not be a newsletter in your inbox tomorrow. We appreciate your understanding of this slight pause in our schedule, and I will be back on Monday with the next edition of the Jackson Daily! Now, here's everything happening around town today.
First, today's weather:
Warm with some sun. High: 76 Low: 64.
Here are the top three stories in Jackson today:
- About 50 families received food boxes from Hinds Co. Youth Court and Child Protection Services. The court wanted to make sure that those families knew that people cared about them. The food boxes are just one way the court and CPS volunteers were able to help families this season. (WLBT)
- A Jackson restauranteur wants young adults to apply for Refill Jackson Initiative. The program is 8 weeks long and designed to teach them essential soft skills and on-the-job training opportunities. (WAPT Jackson)
- The Hinds County Sheriff's Office and a Jackson church teamed up to host a children's bike giveaway. The event was sponsored by Gray-Daniels Ford of Brandon. Each of the families to receive bikes was chosen ahead of time. (WAPT Jackson)
