Hello again, Jackson! Important update: You all, as readers, have made the Jackson Daily so successful that it is my honor to announce the next stage of the newsletter. Here are the top 3 stories in Jackson today:

  1. For the fourth time in a month, an abandoned hotel in Jackson caught on fire causing major damage. A total of 12 units and fire crews were on the scene for multiple hours. Authorities haven't released the cause of the fire. (WAPT Jackson)
  2. Jackson Police are asking for the public's help identifying three men they say are connected to an armed robbery. Police say the three men were involved in an armed robbery at the Beasley Road Waffle House on Sunday, Feb. 20. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers. (WJTV)
  3. A mental health warmline is available specifically for Jackson Public School (JPS) students and their families who need emotional support. Working Together Jackson and CONTACT the Crisis Line are partnering to offer the hotline seven days a week between noon and 8:00 p.m. (WJTV)

  • Mississippi Department of Transportation shared information about Engineers Week 2022. Throughout the week the department will feature MDOT engineers, starting with MSU Bagley College of Engineering grad Amanda Clark. (Facebook)
  • On Wednesday, February 23, free COVID tests and booster shots will be available across Jackson. Tests and shots will be available at J.R. Lynch Street. (WJTV)
