Good morning, Jackson! It's Saturday, so let's get you started with everything you need to know going on today in Jackson.

First, today's weather:

Sunny, pleasant and warmer. High: 71 Low: 47.

Here are the top three stories today in Jackson:

  1. Jackson's Riverside Drive will be operating as a one-way road due to reconstruction for the foreseeable future. The project will be replacing a 36-inch water line on the north side of the road while an 18-inch water line is replaced on the south side. The repairs are meant to correct an ongoing water leak issue that has been plaguing the road for years, and a timeline has not yet been determined. (WJTV)
  2. Mississippi state legislature has enacted extra state oversight of Jackson's American Rescue Plan Act funds. The oversight is specifically meant to review funds used for water and sewer projects. The legislature has not placed additional oversight or deadlines on any other Mississippi city. (Clarion Ledger)
  3. A special farmers market is being hosted by the Junior League of Jackson today. The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Central Mississippi on West Capitol Street, and admission is free. Attendees will be able to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables while enjoying fun activities. Information regarding healthy eating and exercise will also be provided. (WJTV)

Today in Jackson:
