  1. Amid a spike in cases, the Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center is expanding its testing and vaccination capabilities. Drive-through testing and vaccinations will be available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., effective tomorrow. No insurance is needed. (Vicksburg Post)
  2. A new partnership between Jackson State University and Mississippi College is aiming to improve health outcomes across the state, especially in poor and rural communities. University leaders reported that a $5 million grant has been allocated to fund public health programs and training at both institutions. Providing public health education and resources to underserved communities also ranks highly on the partnership's list of priorities. (WLBT)
  3. A pregnant woman and her unborn child died after being shot multiple times in Jackson. 22-year-old Brianna Carter, who was eight months pregnant at the time, died from multiple gunshot wounds after a shooting near Bishop Avenue. Jackson Police Department is currently searching for Daniel Jones, the suspect; anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact JPD. (WLBT)
