- A Jackson student won a national songwriting contest. Oluchi Nwaokorie was announced as one of the winners of the National Endowment for the Arts with the American Theatre Wing's 2021 Musical Theater Songwriting Challenge. Her song will be recorded by Broadway musicians and vocalists in New York City, will be streamed on music platforms, and will be compiled into a songbook. (WLBT)
- Jackson police are investigating after a body was found on Overstreet Avenue on Wednesday afternoon. The victim was in his 20s and was shot multiple times. Police have not yet identified the victim. (WJTV)
- Connecting Mississippi Women in Business will host a virtual lecture today from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. about Embracing the Power of Connection. (WDAM)
- The 10th annual Purple Dress Run will be held in Jackson at 6:00 p.m. to raise awareness about domestic violence. (WJTV)
- A nursing shortage could cut bed numbers at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. (WAPT Jackson)
